Quakorld Privacy Policy

Last updated 2026-10-09

Quakorld shows earthquakes around the world in real time and can notify you about the ones that match rules you choose. It has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.

Without alerts

The app downloads public earthquake data directly from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) and the Swiss Seismological Service (SED, ETH Zurich). Like any website, those services see your IP address when the app contacts them. Maps are provided by Apple Maps. Your filter preferences stay on your device.

When you turn on alerts

To send notifications while the app is closed, Quakorld registers with its alert server (quakes.noctov.us) and sends:

This data is used only to decide which earthquakes to notify you about. It is never sold, shared with third parties or used for advertising. Notifications are delivered through Apple Push Notification service.

Storage and deletion

Permissions

Notifications and location are both optional. Without location access, “Near me” rules are inactive; all other features keep working.

Not an official warning system. Quakorld relays public data that may be delayed, revised or incomplete. Do not rely on it for your safety; follow official authorities and alerts in your area.
